Updated Win-Loss Predictions for Bills After Hot 2-0 Start

The Buffalo Bills continue their quest for the NFL's first-ever 17-0 regular season when they face the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday at Highmark Stadium.

OK, maybe we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves. 

Regardless, the goal is a W every week, as Buffalo is on track through two games in 2026. 

Let's look at the remaining schedule to see where Buffalo might stumble and predict how things will play out for Josh Allen and Co. between now and January. 

September

Week 3 vs. Chargers: Win (3-0)

Los Angeles comes limping into a tough road spot. Buffalo is as well, with Ed Oliver (hip) and DJ Moore (shoulder) both up in the air. Still, I can't see that defense slowing Josh Allen down. Buffalo's defense should perform well against an offense that hasn't clicked yet.

Week 4 vs. Patriots: W (4-0)

This could go either way, as New England beat Buffalo on the road in the first week of October last year and went on to win the division. That said, the Patriots have come back to earth a bit. That's realistically unlikely to happen two years in a row. 

Week 5 at Rams: L (4-1)

This wraps up a damn tough run of games for both teams, but the Rams are at home in prime time and are one of the few teams in the NFL with as much talent as the Bills. They win a thriller, with their receivers having a big advantage over the vulnerable Buffalo secondary. 

Week 6 at Raiders: W (5-1)

A get-right game, as they are more acclimated to the Pacific time zone. That said, even coming off a projected loss in L.A., the Raiders are sneaky. If Buffalo upsets the Rams and enters 5-0, it becomes an even bigger trap for a tired team looking ahead to its bye.

Week 8 vs. Ravens: W (6-1)

Two weeks to prepare for a home game against an overrated rival whose number they've had in recent years? I'm not even sure this'll be close. 

Week 9 at Vikings: L (6-2)

The Bills lay a sudden egg a couple of times per season. I sense one of those will come on this mini road trip to Minnesota and New York. Justin Jefferson could be a handful here. 

Week 10 at Jets: W (7-2)

Facing the talented, spunky Vikings in a prime-time road game makes more sense as an L on this roadie, but if they pull that one off, I can see the egg-laying taking place against a Jets team that knows them well and might be flying under the radar. Basically, I have them splitting their October road trip as well as this one. 

Week 11 vs. Dolphins: W (8-2)

Miami beat the Bills last November, but this is a very different team. Thus far, it hasn't looked like one that is NFL-caliber. This is a tough road spot for the Dolphins. 

Week 12 vs. Chiefs: W (9-2)

They're lucky to get the juggernaut Chiefs at home with Kansas City traveling on short rest for a Thanksgiving Thursday nighter. They win a memorable one at Highmark.

December

Week 13 at Patriots: W (10-2)

Tough call here. The Patriots have a later bye and could be fresher for this home game, but the Bills also benefit from extra rest following Thursday's matchup with Kansas City. If Buffalo wins this, it probably suffers an egg-laying letdown in Green Bay. 

Week 14 at Packers: L (10-3)

For the third time in three months, I have them going 1-1 on a mini road trip. In this case, I'll give them the victory in New England on extra rest and then have them fall to the Packers in a tough prime-time spot at Lambeau. 

Week 15 vs. Bears: W (11-3)

This is the back half of a two-game road swing for the Bears, who may lack what it takes to slow down the Buffalo offense in prime time at Highmark. 

Week 16 at Broncos: L (11-4)

Totally winnable game for Buffalo, but few would fault them for falling in this road spot against a prime contender.

Week 17 at Dolphins: W (12-4)

You have to wonder if this is a potential upset alert. The Dolphins could have a lot more figured out by this point. It's their second home game in a row. They did hammer the Bills at this site last November. I'll go W, but could see this being a letdown L if the Bills are coming off a win in Denver. Either way, it works out to another 1-1 road trip. 

Week 18 vs. Jets: W (13-4)

This is likely only a loss if it doesn't matter, which is unlikely considering that I've given them four road losses in October, November and December. This should be enough to recapture the AFC East crown and contend for the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
