Derek Carr Responds to Photo of Giants Uniform Edit amid Comeback Speculation After Dart Injury

Former NFL quarterback Derek Carr reacted to speculation that he could come back and join the New York Giants following Jaxson Dart's knee injury.

Carr responded to an edit of himself in a Giants uniform on X, explaining that he's currently focused on searching for a crew to join in NBA 2K27.

The 35-year-old previously started 169 games throughout his 11 seasons in the NFL before announcing his retirement in May 2025.

Dart is set to undergo season-ending surgery after suffering damage to his MCL, PCL and meniscus during New York's 28-6 defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams on Monday.

Backup Jameis Winston will replace Dart under center, but New York is also looking to add an external option after Winston completed just 40.7 percent of his throws for 111 yards and one interception against Los Angeles.

Giants head coach John Harbaugh confirmed that the team will be bringing in another quarterback, per Dan Duggan of The Athletic.

"All options are open," Harbaugh told reporters on Wednesday.

While Carr last played in the NFL during the 2024 season and retired following a shoulder injury, he hasn't completely shut the door on a comeback.

"I never say never," Carr said during a July appearance on Good Morning Football. "It would take a special situation. There were multiple teams that reached out to me this offseason. I won't say who or how, but they reached out and were gauging my interest on what I wanted to do. They were good, solid football teams."

The four-time Pro Bowler appeared in 10 games during his final year on the New Orleans Saints, completing 67.7 percent of his passes for 2,145 yards and 15 touchdowns while getting picked off five times.

Although the Giants are searching for another signal-caller, it doesn't seem as though Carr is a legitimate possibility.
