Jayden Daniels Teammates' Response to Injury Addressed by Commanders HC After Viral Videos

When Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a gruesome elbow injury against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, the response from his teammates was pointed out by NFL fans.

While many of Daniels' teammates walked to the sideline immediately after he went down, head coach Dan Quinn said his players were torn up over the injury.

"It's just the opposite," Quinn told reporters on Wednesday. "These guys were absolutely gutted. When the half is over... I can't delay the half. They can't stay on the field. They were gutted. They love this guy."

As Quinn noted, the play where Daniels was injured occurred right as the first half ended, so players quickly had to get off the field and go into the locker room. It surely would have been a different scene if the injury had taken place at a different point in the game.

Unfortunately for the Commanders, Daniels is now likely set to miss an extended period of time, making a 0-2 start for Washington even more difficult to overcome. Daniels suffered the same injury in Week 9 last season and was able to return in Week 14.

Until Daniels returns, Marcus Mariota will take the reins on offense and try to keep the Commanders afloat.
