Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham's Final Box Score Stats, Highlights as Fever Beat Lynx

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever were able to defeat the Minnesota Lynx by the final score of 96-77 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Tuesday night.

Clark finished with a team-high 27 points in the win, while Sophie Cunningham contributed off the bench with three triples.

Lynx standout rookie Olivia Miles didn't suit up in the contest due to a calf injury, although star forward Napheesa Collier was still active for Minnesota.

Indiana set the tone early on Tuesday night.

The Fever only led 17-14 with just under four minutes remaining in the first quarter, but closed the period on a 14-2 run to gain a 15-point advantage heading into the second.

Indiana excelled on both ends of the floor throughout the first half, leading by as many as 29 points in the second quarter.

While the Lynx went on an 8-2 run over the final 90 seconds of the opening half, the Fever were still up 57-34 at halftime.

Minnesota finally bounced back in the third quarter, scoring 11 unanswered points to begin the second half. The Lynx ended up outscoring the Fever 30-14 in the third.

Although Minnesota cut the deficit to seven points heading into the fourth quarter, Indiana quickly took a double-digit lead once again due to a three-pointer by Clark.

The Fever extended their advantage back to 16 points midway through the fourth before the Lynx were ultimately unable to complete the comeback.

Minnesota struggled with ball security during the game, as Indiana racked up 11 steals and scored 21 points off turnovers. The Lynx recorded just five steals and finished with nine points off turnovers.

Minnesota fell to 32-11 and now sits just 0.5 games up on the Golden State Valkyries for the No. 1 seed in the WNBA playoff picture. The Lynx hold the head-to-head tiebreaker between both teams, though.

Meanwhile, the Fever improved to 28-15 with the win. They have sole possession of the No. 5 spot in the WNBA standings.

Indiana and Minnesota will meet again in their regular-season finale on Thursday.
