Mike Evans Injury Update, Latest on 49ers WR, Fantasy Outlook and Top Waiver-Wire Targets

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters on Monday that Mike Evans' injured hip will "have to be managed this week" after the veteran wideout left Sunday's 35-13 win over the Miami Dolphins with the issue and didn't return.

Shanahan did suggest on Sunday that Evans' injury wasn't serious.

"It can always change tomorrow," he told reporters after the game. "But if the game was different, he would've been able to come back in."

That was an important update for a Niners team already without De'Zhaun Stribling, Ricky Pearsall, Christian Kirk and Demarcus Robinson at the receiver position, leaving Evans and Deebo Samuel as the top options out wide for Brock Purdy.

It would be good news for fantasy football enthusiasts relying on Evans this season, though if he's forced to miss time, there are options on the waiver wire.

In Las Vegas, Tre Tucker is coming off a fantastic game (five catches for 119 yards and a touchdown), though the potential return of Brock Bowers could limit his targets. Still, he's clearly emerged as Kirk Cousins' preferred target among the team's wideouts.

Monitor Zay Flowers' status in Baltimore. If he misses Week 3, Rashod Bateman—who caught seven passes for 88 yards and a score with Flowers out of the lineup on Sunday—is a good short-term add.

In Philadelphia, Dontayvion Wicks continues to impress as the No. 2 wideout behind DeVonta Smith, putting up seven catches for 147 yards and a score after two games. Expect Jalen Hurts to continue relying on him in the passing game with Dallas Goedert scheduled to be out of action for a few weeks with a strained MCL.

Finally, it appears Denzel Boston has emerged as a trusted target for Deshaun Watson in Cleveland. The rookie second-rounder has seven catches for 154 yards and two touchdowns on the season and is tied with KC Concepcion for the team-lead in targets (11).

Trusting anybody on the Browns never feels great, but Boston is off to a very promising start and is worth your consideration.
