Jalen Hurts Calls Out Jeffery Simmons' Comments About QB on Video After Eagles Beat Titans

Jalen Hurts kept the receipts.

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback had some friendly banter for Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons after leading a game-winning touchdown drive during Sunday's 24-20 victory.

"We just need to make Jalen Hurts be a quarterback," Simmons told reporters this week. "Stop his runs, make sure Hurts doesn't get out of the pocket and make plays."

Given the seemingly never-ending debate about Hurts as a quarterback, those comments quickly made the rounds.

As a pure passer, Hurts isn't elite. He's never thrown for 4,000 yards or 30 touchdowns in a season. But the conversation shouldn't stop there—you also have to consider his ability to make plays with his legs; his ability to limit turnovers and manage the game; his tendency to make plays in the clutch and deliver on the biggest stage (one Super Bowl title, two excellent Super Bowl performances); and the fact that he just wins, year in and year out, despite Philadelphia's revolving door of offensive coordinators.

Much of that was displayed on Philly's final drive Sunday, when Hurts led a nine-play, 65-yard drive in under two minutes, resulting in Darius Cooper's game-winning touchdown reception.

Hurts wasn't perfect on Sunday, throwing two interceptions. But as usual, he had the last word.
