Patriots Beat Steelers, Box Score Stats, Highlights for Aaron Rodgers, Maye, DK, Top Players

After starting the year with a loss to the Seattle Seahawks, the New England Patriots got back on track with a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

The Patriots, who were 16.5-point favorites over the Steelers (via FanDuel Sportsbook), cruised past Pittsburgh 20-3 at home.

After missing Week 1 against the Seahawks, Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson had a nice start to his season, scoring on New England's second drive of the game on a 39-yard rush.

After Henderson's score, both offenses had a slow first half, with each picking up a field goal before halftime. The Steelers appeared to have some momentum early in the third quarter when they intercepted Drake Maye on the first drive of the half, but they couldn't capitalize and had to punt.

The Patriots took a 13-3 lead with a field goal late in the third quarter and then forced an Aaron Rodgers fumble that resulted in a touchdown to make it 20-3 early in the fourth.

The mistakes from Rodgers continued later in the fourth when he threw an interception in the red zone.

While New England couldn't capitalize on the pick, it essentially sealed the win for the Pats since they were able to run the clock down and leave the Steelers with just over three minutes to mount a comeback.

The Patriots looked questionable in their season opener last week, and there is clearly still plenty to work on, but a double-digit win is a good way to get back on track ahead of a tough stretch against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills.

The Steelers won their season opener against the Atlanta Falcons, but a dreadful performance on Sunday will likely have fans questioning whether Rodgers and new head coach Mike McCarthy can get Pittsburgh to the playoffs.
