Browns' Team Plane Was Rerouted 'Due to Inclement Weather' Ahead of Bucs Game

The Cleveland Browns reportedly had a less than ideal trip ahead of Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Greg Auman of Fox Sports reported the team's flight to Tampa "had to pull up due to inclement weather" and "tried a holding pattern" before eventually flying to Orlando to refuel before then flying into Tampa.

This is Cleveland's second straight trip to Florida to start the 2026 campaign, as it faced the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1.

While the travel surely went better for that one, the game was one to forget for the AFC North team. Jacksonville cruised to a 34-10 victory that wasn't even as close as the final score indicated considering the Browns scored a touchdown with fewer than two minutes remaining.

The Jaguars sacked Deshaun Watson five times while the quarterback also threw an interception and lost a fumble. On the other side, Trevor Lawrence threw four touchdown passes to zero interceptions in an impressive individual performance.

ESPN's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that Cleveland will further evaluate the quarterback position after Sunday's game against the Buccaneers with Shedeur Sanders as "the next man up" should it decide to bench Watson.

That means there will be plenty of pressure on Watson's shoulders to play at a higher level in Week 2 than he did in the opening loss.

And he will be coming into the game after the team's travel was delayed the prior day.
