Angel Reese Makes WNBA History with Single-Season Rebounding Milestone During Dream vs. Sky

Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese made history during a game against the Chicago Sky on Saturday.

Reese recorded her 500th rebound of the year in the first half of the contest, becoming the first player in WNBA history to reach the milestone in a single season.

She already owns the WNBA's single-season rebounding record, which was set during Atlanta's 78-71 win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Aug. 24.

Reese discussed her rebounding mindset as she broke the single-season recod.

"Anything that goes up is mine," Reese said on Aug. 24, via USA Today's Cydney Henderson. "I want to be one of (the best) when I walk away from the game. So just being able to ... be consistent every night is something I'm looking forward to doing."

The three-time All-Star is in the midst of a historic year, as she previously set the WNBA's single-season record for double-doubles with 29 on Aug. 30.

Reese has averaged a career-high 16.5 points to go along with a league-leading 12.4 rebounds per game across 40 appearances heading into Saturday's action. She also recorded 2.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.7 blocks on a nightly basis over that span.

The 24-year-old has served as a key frontcourt piece of a Dream squad that owns a 27-14 record, sitting at No. 4 in the WNBA standings with the playoffs approaching.

Atlanta owns a plus-10.2 net rating with Reese on the floor compared to a plus-0.2 net rating with her off the court this season (via WNBA.com).

As she gets closer to her playoff debut, her 2026 campaign has already been a memorable one.
