Adam Vinatieri to Attempt Guinness World Records Kick in Swiss Alps Ahead of Patriots' Munich Game

Adam Vinatieri is widely considered one of the greatest kickers of all-time, having made a number of memorable field goals during his time with the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts.

But he's looking to add a Guinness World Records kick to his resume in retirement.

The Patriots announced Friday that as part of the promotion for its Nov. 15 game against the Detroit Lions in Munich, Germany, Vinatieri will travel to the Swiss Alps to attempt a kick on the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe.

The plan is for the Patriots and Jungfrau Railways to set up goal posts in the snow for the Hall of Famer to attempt the highest elevation field goal in history.

"I've had the chance to attempt a lot of special kicks in my career, but getting to go for an official Guinness World Records title on snow at 3,454 meters in a Patriots jersey is truly something special," he said. "The conditions up there in the Alps are completely different from anything we know from the NFL. That's exactly what makes this challenge so exciting."

The kick will take place on Sept. 22.

Vinatieri was just inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2026. He played 24 seasons, 10 of which came with the Patriots and 14 of which came with the Indianapolis Colts. 

While he played more seasons in Indianapolis, he won three of his four Super Bowl rings in New England.

And he might be adding his name to the Guinness World Records while representing the Patriots as well.
