Caitlin Clark Says Her Signature Shoes Are Best She's Played In After Loving Kobe's in New Video
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark commended the Nike design team on her first signature sneaker.
The three-time WNBA All-Star opened her media availability Thursday by discussing the new Caitlin 1s. Asked by one reporter to make a sales pitch for the kicks (6:50 mark), she said "they're probably the best looking shoe on the market" and called them the "best shoe I've ever played in." Clark added they eclipsed the Kobes she had worn regularly before.

Brionna Jones Out for Season
Nike shared some of the process behind designing the Caitlin 1s and tailoring them to Clark's game. Alex Zerzan, a product line manager for Nike Basketball, explained one focus was building the shoe in a way that accentuates her movement on the perimeter.
The shoes don't hit stores until Oct. 1, but Clark has been wearing them throughout the WNBA season and during the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup.
Her performance has served as a great advertisement for the debut line. She's averaging a career-high 22.5 points and 8.4 assists through 36 games, with Indiana securing a third straight playoff berth.
