ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Collins was injured during practice on Wednesday. His availability for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals is "in jeopardy."
Collins is coming off three straight 1,000-yard campaigns, making the Pro Bowl in 2024 and 2025. To this point in his career, he has yet to play a full regular season, though one absence last year was due to a concussion and another resulted from Houston resting him in Week 18.
When he's healthy, Collins' effectiveness isn't in doubt, and he showed as much in the Texans' opener. He caught seven passes for 75 yards and one touchdown in a 36-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Houston amended Collins' contract over the summer, increasing his salary but putting him on a path to free agency in 2028. More of the same from Week 1 will earn him another big payday before too long.
