Week 2 Fantasy Football Rankings Overview for All Positions

Kristopher Knox
Sep 15, 2026

Week 1 brought its fair share of surprises, both to the NFL world and to fantasy football managers. We saw stars like Ja'Marr Chase and Matthew Stafford fall well short of expectations, while teams like the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals were unexpectedly good.

We also saw multiple players—including A.J. Brown, Sam Darnold, Kyler Murray, and Zay Flowers—go down with Week 1 injuries.

While some of what we saw during the opening slate will prove to be an aberration of the 2026 season, we must adjust the fantasy landscape just a bit heading into Week 2.

Here, you'll find early point-per-reception (PPR) rankings for all positions, along with a few sleepers to consider targeting on the waiver wire.

Quarterback

1 of 5
Saints Lions Football
Tyler Shough
  1. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
  2. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
  3. Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears
  4. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
  5. Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
  6. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
  7. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
  8. Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
  9. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
  10. Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders

Sleeper: Tyler Shough, New Orleans Saints

Budding New Orleans Saints star Tyler Shough is the quarterback to target on the wire this week. The second-year signal-caller had some early hiccups against the Detroit Lions on Sunday but rebounded to have a fantastic overall performance.

Shough tossed a pair of interceptions but also finished with 410 passing yards, three touchdowns, and eight rushing yards.

This week, Shough will face a Baltimore Ravens defense that did appear to be improved in Week 1. However, his scrambling ability, while not heavily utilized against Detroit, gives him a very attractive floor. At worst, he can be claimed and started later in the season.

Shough is rostered in only 22 percent of fantasy leagues.

Running Back

2 of 5
49ers Raiders Football
Kaelon Black
  1. Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions
  2. Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons
  3. Derrick Henry, Baltimore Ravens
  4. Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers
  5. Ashton Jeanty, Las Vegas Raiders
  6. Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles
  7. Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts
  8. D'Andre Swift, Chicago Bears
  9. Javonte Williams, Dallas Cowboys
  10. De'Von Achane, Miami Dolphins
  11. Omarion Hampton, Los Angeles Chargers
  12. Kenneth Walker III, Kansas City Chiefs
  13. David Montgomery, Houston Texans
  14. Chase Brown, Cincinnati Bengals
  15. James Cook, Buffalo Bills

Sleeper: Kaelon Black, San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers aren't about to replace Christian McCaffrey as their lead running back. However, it's clear that they're going to heavily utilize rookie Kaelon Black in a rotational role.

Against the Los Angeles Rams last Thursday, Black logged 14 carries, a catch, and 70 scrimmage yards. This week, he'll face a Miami Dolphins defense that surrendered 130 rushing yards on Sunday.

Black is worth flex-start consideration this week and is definitely worth picking up as a handcuff to McCaffrey. He's currently rostered in just 10.5 percent of fantasy leagues.

Wide Receiver

3 of 5
Commanders Eagles Football
Dontayvion Wicks
  1. Puka Nacua, Los Angeles Rams
  2. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle Seahawks
  3. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions
  4. Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings
  5. CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys
  6. Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals
  7. DeVonta Smith, Philadelphia Eagles
  8. Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints
  9. Nico Collins, Houston Texans
  10. Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals
  11. Parker Washington, Jacksonville Jaguars
  12. Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers
  13. Malik Nabers, New York Giants
  14. Garrett Wilson, New York Jets
  15. Drake London, Atlanta Falcons

Sleeper: Dontayvion Wicks, Philadelphia Eagles

This offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles added wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks in a trade with the Green Bay Packers. It didn't take long for Wicks to show exactly why the Eagles were interested in him.

Wicks was arguably Philadelphia's top big-play threat in Sunday's matchup against the rival Washington Commanders. He was targeted four times and finished with two catches for 73 yards and a touchdown.

While Wicks' PPR floor is suspect, he should have a high ceiling against a lackluster Tennessee Titans secondary this week. If he continues to establish himself as a reliable target, he could become a solid flex streamer moving forward.

Wicks is rostered in just seven percent of leagues.

Tight End

4 of 5
Texans Chiefs Football
Dalton Schultz
  1. Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals
  2. Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers
  3. Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills
  4. Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles
  5. Colston Loveland, Chicago Bears
  6. Tyler Warren, Indianapolis Colts
  7. Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions
  8. George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers
  9. Isaiah Likely, New York Giants
  10. Harold Fannin Jr., Cleveland Browns

Sleeper: Dalton Schultz, Houston Texans

For whatever reason, fantasy managers just don't seem to like Dalton Schultz. The Houston Texans' pass-catcher finished last season as TE10 in PPR leagues, yet was widely ignored in 2026 drafts.

Schultz is currently rostered in only 17.5 percent of fantasy leagues.

On Sunday, Schultz caught four passes for 35 yards during a back-and-forth battle with the Buffalo Bills. This week, he'll face the Cincinnati Bengals in a game that could also see plenty of offensive production.
