Cam Skattebo Reacts to Backflip, 'Going to Continue to Kick Ass' After Giants' Win vs. Cowboys

New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo was resolved to hit his trademark celebration well before he found the end zone in Sunday's 28-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

The second-year star scored the first touchdown of the game in the first quarter and punctuated the play with a backflip:

Skattebo said after the game he knew he'd go for the backflip and "had to give it to the city one time." That might be the last time fans see it for a while, though:

The 2025 fourth-round pick carried the ball 18 times for 81 yards and the one score. He said he feels "like myself again" and that he'll "continue to kick ass and work my ass off."

Skattebo was limited to eight games as a rookie after fracturing his ankle. After an injury that serious, it was reasonable to wonder whether he'd be putting the backflip permanently on ice.

Everyone on the Giants coaching staff and inside the front office had to wince when Skattebo tried and failed to land one at Fanatics Fest this summer:

ESPN's Jordan Raanan subsequently reported coach John Harbaugh and general manager Joe Schoen "prefer he not do [the backflip] leading into the season."

New York will be encouraged by how Skattebo performed in his first full game back, and Harbaugh is likely pleased to know his backflipping will be kept to a minimum moving forward.
