Derrick Henry Climbs All-Time Rushing TD List, Who is Above Ravens RB in Record Book of NFL History?

The timeless Derrick Henry moved up in the NFL record book Sunday.

The Baltimore Ravens running back scored two touchdowns on the ground in the first half of his team's season opener against the Indianapolis Colts, which gave him 124 career rushing touchdowns. He moved ahead of Marcus Allen in the process and then scored a third in the second half.

It wasn't the only history Henry made.

Jamison Hensley of ESPN noted the two scores marked the 33rd time in his career the veteran tallied two or more touchdown runs in a game. That is the highest mark in the league since 2016.

What's more, he passed Colts legend Marvin Harrison for ninth on the NFL's all-time touchdown list with 129.

Logic dictates that at some point Henry will slow down. After all, he is 33 years old, in his 11th NFL season and led the league in rushing attempts four different times. He has surpassed 300 carries in five different seasons, including the previous two.

Yet if Sunday is any indication, there is no slowing down on the immediate horizon.

Henry's physicality makes him nearly impossible to tackle in a one-on-one scenario, but he also has the speed to get around the edge and explode for long gains.

Sharing the backfield with a mobile quarterback such as Lamar Jackson makes him even more dangerous, as defenses consistently have to pause for a second to determine which one of them has the ball. And that one second is sometimes all it takes to blow past them.

Henry will surely continue to climb the leaderboards, and he got off to quite the start this season on Sunday.
