New NFL Rumors on Tucker Kraft's 'Relatively Strong' Packers Contract Offer Ahead of Week 1

Tucker Kraft is entering the final year of his contract, but the Green Bay Packers have reportedly already made him a "strong offer."

During an appearance Thursday on The Pat McAfee Show, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported, "The Packers have a relatively strong offer out there. … I don't know what the guarantee the Packers have to Tucker Kraft, but those conversations will go on up until the weekend."

Kraft's ceiling is to be one of the best tight ends in the league.

The 2023 third-round pick broke out in his second season in the league and tallied 50 catches for 707 yards and seven touchdowns, which seemed to set the stage for a monster 2025 campaign. And it started out that way, as he found the end zone six times in his first eight games.

However, the tight end tore his ACL and saw his season come to a premature end.

The torn ACL adds an element of risk to the contract discussions, as Kraft could need some time to return to form even though all indications are he will be ready to go for Sunday's season opener against the division-rival Minnesota Vikings.

But the ceiling surely outweighs the risk in the Packers' eyes.

Kraft is just 25 years old, has demonstrated notable chemistry with quarterback Jordan Love and was well on pace for double-digit touchdowns last season before the injury. In a perfect world for Green Bay, he will be a focal point of the aerial attack for the foreseeable future.

That will first require a new contract, but the team reportedly has that "strong offer" out there as the season opener approaches.
