Caitlin Clark's Updated Box Score Stats Ahead of USA's Game vs. Hungary in FIBA World Cup KO Bracket

Caitlin Clark closed out the group phase of the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup on a relative high as the United States sailed past Czechia.

Through three games in the tournament, Clark is Team USA's leader in assists and fifth in scoring while playing more minutes than anybody else.

The United States already had a quarterfinal spot secured when it took the floor against Czechia on Monday. That allowed coach Kara Lawson to ease the workload on her starters a bit and utilize her entire bench.

Clark wound up playing 22 minutes, scoring nine points and dishing out seven assists.

The Indiana Fever guard has been solid in her first major tournament for the senior national team. She opened with a double-double but has since leveled off a bit.

The regression was to be expected. The international game presents a different test to what WNBA players are familiar with, and it's tough for any one star to stand out on a team with as much talent as the United States.

Nobody expected the U.S. to have as much trouble as it did against Italy, so Hungary shouldn't be overlooked. The Hungarians are 19th in the FIBA ranking, though, and got blown out by 46 points against France in the group phase.

Assuming the United States advances, a matchup with Spain or Australia could await. Spain has already punched its ticket to the last eight, with Australia playing Italy on Wednesday.
