Tutu Atwell Reacts to Rams Reunion After Dolphins Trade Ahead of 2026 NFL Season

Tutu Atwell spent the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Los Angeles Rams before being released this offseason after his role in the offense diminished during the 2025 season.

Atwell then signed with the Miami Dolphins, though the Rams made a surprising trade in late August, reacquiring Atwell for running back Jarquez Hunter to fill their No. 3 receiver need.

"Nah, man, it don't feel like I was gone," Atwell told reporters on Thursday. "I'm back with my brothers, man. I just feel great and feel awesome just to be back here and with these great players and guys. I'm just excited."

Atwell, 26, set career highs in receptions (42) and receiving yards (562) in 2024 but his playing time and production fell off last season (six catches for 192 yards and a score) as he fell behind starters Puka Nacua and Davante Adams and backups Jordan Whittington, Konata Mumpfield and Xavier Smith in the pecking order.

All five are back in Los Angeles. But the Rams clearly felt Atwell still had something to offer their offense.

"I just take it one day at a time—you know, do what I do and what I can control," he told reporters. "At the end of the day, [head coach Sean McVay] has always got a plan, whether it's for me or the team or whatever it is. You know he's going to put us in the right position to play good and execute the play. Overall, when my number's called, I just make the best of that moment."
