Mike Tomlin Teases Potential for NFL Return After Taking TV Role with NBC Following Steelers Exit

Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach and current NBC Sports analyst Mike Tomlin isn't ruling out a return to coaching at some point in the future.

"I don't know about the long-term component of things," he said during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show Thursday (2:00 mark). "I've just lived enough to know to leave certain doors ajar. But man I gotta admit, my pulse rate is pretty low these days. I've enjoyed my summer home to the fullest. It's been a good offseason."

Tomlin, 54, spent 19 seasons as the head coach of the Steelers, leading the team to a 193-114-2 record, 13 playoff appearances, two Super Bowl berths and one championship. While Tomlin never posted a losing record in Pittsburgh, the Steelers also haven't won a playoff game since the 2016 season.

Now he's moved to the broadcasting role, and he doesn't seem keen on speculating about his future before his media career has barely begun:

But coaching is something that he clearly hasn't ruled out entirely going forward.
