Little League World Series 2015: Dates, Bracket, Live Stream and TV Schedule
Baseball fans are caught up in the major league pennant races as we pass the midpoint of August, and that means the stretch run and the postseason are just around the corner.
But baseball fans will also keep their eye on another brand of baseball, the type played by Little Leaguers in coming days.
The Little League World Series is held every year in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and it has a way of capturing the attention of sports fans from coast to coast.
Last year, Philadelphia-area pitcher Mo'ne Davis grabbed the spotlight with her power and poise on the mound, while a gritty group of youngsters from the Jackie Robinson West Little League in Chicago represented the United States in the championship game against South Korea.
The South Koreans took that championship game, but they will not be back to defend the title. That means this should be a wide-open tournament when competition gets underway Thursday.

Format
All teams that have made it to the Little League World Series will compete in a double-elimination bracket. All U.S. teams will compete against each other until a champion is crowned. The same holds for international teams.
However, once teams have two losses, they move to the consolation bracket, and those games can feature American teams competing against international teams.
No American team has won the Little League World Series championship since 2011. The representatives from Chinese Taipei have won 17 times.
