Carolina Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan added 20 pounds during the offseason while preparing for his second year in the NFL, per Darin Gantt of the team's official website.

McMillan explained that he wanted to return to his college weight.

"In college when I was heavier, I was stronger, faster," McMillan told reporters Wednesday.

The 23-year-old previously revealed that he ended last season at 205 pounds, via Kassidy Hill of the team's official website.

In June, McMillan confirmed that he bulked up to roughly 220 pounds.

The former Arizona standout is looking to build on his impressive rookie year, immediately establishing himself as a crucial piece of Carolina's passing attack after he was selected with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

McMillan hauled in 70 receptions for 1,014 yards and seven touchdowns while appearing in all 17 regular-season games. He was named Offensive Rookie of the Year for his efforts.

Carolina won the NFC South and advanced to the playoffs, ultimately falling to the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card round. Still, McMillan caught five passes for 81 yards in his postseason debut.

The Panthers now enter their 2026 campaign looking to clinch consecutive playoff appearances for the first time since 2015.
