Josh Allen Launches Out of Pocket Studios, Will Serve as CEO, Be Executive Producer on All Projects
Buffalo Bills star quarterback Josh Allen is the latest athlete to enter the realm of content production.
Per Brian Steinberg of Variety, Allen announced the launch of Out of Pocket Studios, which is described as "a media venture that will have him backing entertainment, commercial and experiential projects." The 2024 NFL MVP will serve as CEO of the new company and as an executive producer on all projects.
"Skydance Sports has given me a platform to turn the ideas I care most about into something real," Allen said in a statement. "We're excited to share what Out of Pocket Studios has created so far, and for everyone to see what we're building from here."
The new studio will debut with a TV special called "America's Tailgate," slated to air on CBS on Labor Day. The program will feature music and celebrities and is hosted by NFL Today studio analyst Nate Burleson. Later in the week, "NFL Play Action," a weekly football-analysis studio show hosted by Kyle Brandt and fitness instructor Ally Love, will debut on Paramount+ on Sept. 9.
Other projects from the studio include "The Buffalo Miracle," which "captures the heroism of a McDonald's manager in Buffalo who, during a deadly blizzard in 2022, opened the restaurant to stranded citizens on Christmas Eve." A comedy series conceived by Allen has already been sold and is also on the way.
It will be fun to see how Allen's new endeavor develops, but for now, the star signal-caller will focus on getting ready for the Bills' 2026 season opener against the Houston Texans on Sept. 13.
