Travis Hunter Will 'Absolutely' Have a Role on Offense amid 2-Way Questions, Jaguars HC Says

Travis Hunter's role as a two-way player has been in question this offseason, but Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen clarified that he'll continue to play on both sides of the ball.

"Absolutely. We'll definitely have a package on offense to be able to get him some opportunities," Coen said on the Rich Eisen Show (7:45 mark). "There's been a steady increase in his defensive work just by nature of where we're at on defense and continuing to try to create consistency... There's been a lot of detail and time-on-task this offseason. He'll absolutely have a plan on offense. "

Hunter won the Heisman Trophy at Colorado because of his tremendous play on both sides of the ball, but many fairly assumed that he'd have to pick one or the other once he got to the NFL.

That wasn't the case during his rookie year, though, as he recorded 28 receptions for 298 yards and a touchdown while racking up 15 tackles and three passes defended on defense in seven games.

After the season, a few reports indicated that Hunter would pivot to mostly playing corner while getting a few snaps at wide receiver. He questioned those reports on social media.

The extent of Hunter's role on offense and defense remains to be seen, but he's proved that he's capable of playing at a high level on both sides of the ball.
