Carlos Hyde, Jarryd Hayne's Post-Preseason Week 1 Fantasy Advice
There's a duo of running backs in San Francisco that might just catch your eye come fantasy draft day.
Carlos Hyde and Jarryd Hayne of the 49ers were in action Saturday night as they kicked off their preseason against the Houston Texans.

With the departure of longtime 49er Frank Gore, who went to Indianapolis this offseason, it seems like Hyde was going to be the savior of San Francisco's backfield.
ESPN's fantasy projections have Hyde getting over 260 touches and rushing for over 1,000 yards, which will score around 176.9 points in 2015.
But when looking for running backs, Hyde might be an afterthought with the game's usual suspects of Marshawn Lynch, Le'Veon Bell, LeSean McCoy, DeMarco Murray and Matt Forte at the top of most players' lists. But there's a good chance Hyde might still be hanging around a little bit later in your draft and could be a great pickup in the fourth or fifth round.
Hyde received first-string treatment Saturday night, getting just two touches before handing things over to the secondary players, so it's difficult to take anything away from his performance.
On the other hand, Hayne might have made a case to sneak on to your fantasy team.
The NFL tweeted a video showing Hayne's impact with this 56-yard run during his first competitive game:
"Last year, @49ers RB @jarrydhayne_1 was playing rugby. This year? He's putting NFL defenders on skates. #SFvsHOU http://t.co/30PS6ENIFP
— NFL (@NFL) August 16, 2015"
A former Australian rugby star, Hayne exhibited powerful running with tackle-breaking capability that any fantasy owner could covet. It all depends on if he can get the touches.
If he keeps running like this, it won't be a problem as the powerful back could be San Francisco's short-yard specialist with such a bruising style of play. He is the kind of back you can pick up with one of your last picks.
While your starting backs are on a bye week and you're looking to take a chance on a player who could snag a touchdown or two from short yardage situations, Hayne could be the kind of player who could optimally put up 30 to 40 points in 2015.
