Davis Won't Miss Much Action
Saturday, August 15
According to the Kansas City Star's Vahe Gregorian, Davis is only expected to miss a few days with the knee sprain.
A nice change-of-pace complement behind starter Jamaal Charles, Davis racked up 463 yards and six scores during the 2014 season.
And if he's able to stay healthy after recovering from Saturday's scare, he could be in line for a bigger workload.
According to the Associated Press' Dave Skretta, offensive coordinator Doug Pederson has discussed giving Davis a few more carries in order to keep Charles fresh throughout the upcoming season.
"You want to make sure he is healthy late in the season," Pederson said, per Skretta. "So if that means giving a guy like Knile Davis some reps — whatever you have to do, number one, to keep him healthy for 16 games, and you do that each week."
The 23-year-old should be in a position to thrive once regular-season action gets underway, but he'll need to battle through some pain and make a swift recovery first.
