De'Anthony Thomas Injury: Updates on Chiefs WR's Calf and Return
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver De'Anthony Thomas left the team's preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals with a calf injury, but he was able to return for the regular-season opener against the Houston Texans.
Entering his second season in the NFL, Thomas has shown flashes of becoming a very versatile player who can thrive both as a wide receiver and as a running back.
He averaged 8.1 yards per rushing attempt last season while also hauling in 23 receptions during his rookie season. Thomas gave Chiefs fans a preview of what he was capable of doing at camp, as SB Nation shows:

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Entering the preseason, Thomas was ranked as a secondary receiver behind the likes of veterans Jeremy Maclin and Jason Avant while competing with fellow second-year man Albert Wilson, who caught 16 passes for Kansas City last season.
Thomas has a Percy Harvin-like skill set that could make him an explosive option in a Chiefs team that would find ways to get him touches either through the air or on the ground.
Playing in an offense with weapons like Maclin, who put up a career year in Philadelphia last season with more than 1,300 yards receiving, and perennial 1,000-plus-yard back Jamaal Charles, Thomas has the opportunity to flourish into a dangerous weapon with defensive attention being focused elsewhere.
