Squawka Football was impressed with the youngster's contribution:
Speaking prior to the match, Mourinho expressed his desire to sign the Brazilian:
The youngster, who can also play as a forward, has scored seven goals for Brazil's under-17 and under-20 sides in addition to netting twice in 30 appearances for Fluminense, adding five assists.
Per Todd's report, Mourinho has confirmed the club will not send Kenedy out on loan like so many other Chelsea youngsters each season.
He will likely find opportunities to play up front few and far between next season as he sits behind Diego Costa, Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy in the striking pecking order.
However, Kenedy may find some joy in providing cover for the attacking midfield trio of Eden Hazard, Oscar and Willian, who only have the disappointing Juan Cuadrado and rarely used Victor Moses behind them.
Expect Chelsea to give Kenedy a chance to shine in the domestic cup competitions and perhaps even the Champions League group stage.
Baba Rahman Completes Blues Medical
According to Christian Falk of Sport Bild (h/t Will Giles of Metro), Augsburg left-back Baba Rahman successfully underwent a medical with Chelsea on Thursday.
Following Filipe Luis' return to Atletico Madrid, Chelsea have just one senior option at left-back in Cesar Azpilicueta.
Rahman's addition would go some way to easing the worries of Chelsea fans as the club has so far endured a scant window in the transfer market.
Mourinho has also attempted to allay any fears the supporters may have. According to Alex Harris of the Daily Star, he said the following:
"If at the moment we are not top of the league in relation to the spenders, it doesn’t mean that but people do not have to be worried. First of all the transfer window is not closed. Secondly, we don’t have to be always a champion in the market and third because we do things we think we have to do when we can do.
"
Rahman will undoubtedly prove to be an excellent long-term acquisition for Chelsea.

The 21-year-old won 91 tackles and 77 aerial duels in 31 Bundesliga appearances last season as well as successfully completing 66 per cent of his take-ons and creating 24 chances, per Squawka.
Strong in defence and a threat going forward, the Ghanaian has all the necessary attributes of a modern full-back and will provide excellent cover for Azpilicueta.
As Giles noted in his report, the youngster would also free up the Spaniard to play on the right if Mourinho decides to drop or move on from the 31-year-old Branislav Ivanovic in the coming years.
