Throughout Marcus Mariota's outstanding college career, the question on every football lover's lips was, "Can he do it in the NFL?"

Can Mariota run a traditional NFL offense? Can he drop back from under center, execute play action, go through progressions, dominate from the pocket? Will his athleticism be an asset or distraction in a pro-style offense? Is his squeaky-clean reputation just a little too clean?

All Mariota did was excel at everything he was asked to do—and all it got him was more criticism.

Now, after NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported on Inside Training Camp Live (h/t NFL.com) that Mariota had "essentially a flawless performance" at training camp, the rookie quarterback will get his first chance to prove to the world he can play professional football.

Will he deliver? Will the Titans finally give their fans a competitive product in 2015?

On the other side of the ball, Atlanta Falcons fans are hoping the team's first-round pick, pass-rusher Vic Beasley, can get his mitts on Mariota. No defense has been more desperate for outside heat over the past two seasons, and new head coach Dan Quinn has built his reputation on getting after the passer from every direction.

There'll be plenty of questions answered for both squads Friday night (7 p.m. ET start).
