Panthers' Brad Marchand Trolls Maple Leafs' William Nylander Over Workout Photo

A potentially delayed start to the 2026-27 season hasn't stopped Florida Panthers star Brad Marchand from chirping his future opponents.

Marchand responded Tuesday to a photo shared on the NHL's Instagram of the Toronto Maple Leafs' William Nylander lifting.

"Don't hurt yourself with all that weight willy," Marchand wrote.

Marchand recently said in a video posted to social media he had undergone offseason surgery.

The forward was sidelined for the end of the 2025-26 season with something head coach Paul Maurice said he had been dealing with "for a couple of months."

Marchand said in a video posted earlier this month he had been trying to treat the issue without surgery but ultimately "had to kind of do it last minute."

It is not clear when Marchand will be able to rejoin the Panthers, which are set to open training camp within the next month prior to opening the regular season Sept. 29 against the defending Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes.

The Panthers will hope to have him back in the lineup by the time the team faces Nylander and the Leafs on Dec. 3 in Toronto.
