Indiana Fever v Toronto Tempo

Caitlin Clark Calls Out Fever's Play and Canada's Air Conditioning on Video After Win vs. Tempo

The Indiana Fever fought through a valiant effort from the Toronto Temple and the lack of an effective cooling system in the Coca-Cola Coliseum to earn their fifth straight win on Tuesday night.

After the Fever's 101-95 victory in Toronto, Caitlin Clark told ESPN's Holly Rowe they "didn't play their best" but they were "happy to take a win when we can get it."

Asked about Kelsey Mitchell's fourth-quarter absence, Clark joked it would "probably be helpful" if Canada had air conditioning because it was "a million degrees" in the arena.

Mitchell was able to extend her streak of 20-point games to 20, tying the WNBA record originally set by A'ja Wilson. She sat out the fourth quarter due to being "overheated," per Fever head coach Stephanie White.

"This is two games in a row where we played in really, really hot environments," White said. "All indications are right now that she was just overheated."

Even though the heat from the arena was causing Mitchell problems, the real flames were coming from Clark and the Fever's offense. They hit the 100-point mark for the 16th time in 36 games.

Clark finished with 24 points and seven assists in 33 minutes. She has scored at least 20 points in six consecutive games. The three-time All-Star is averaging 26..1 points on 41.4 percent three-point shooting and 9.2 assists per game in 12 starts since July 17.

Indiana has won 10 of its last 12 games to improve to 24-12 overall. The Fever are in sole possession of third place in the playoff standings and just two games behind the Golden State Valkyries for the No. 2 seed.

Next up for Clark and the Fever is a matchup with Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings on Thursday.
