Brandon Aiyuk, Tyreek Hill's Top NFL Landing Spots After Keenan Allen's Colts Contract
With Keenan Allen coming off the market on Monday night, it leaves Brandon Aiyuk and Tyreek Hill as the top two targets for NFL teams in need of a wide receiver.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported Monday that Allen signed a one-year, $8.32 million contract with the Indianapolis Colts, fortifying a receiving corps that already included Alec Pierce and Josh Downs.
Now that the Colts are no longer in the market for a wideout, here is a look at some potential landing spots for Aiyuk and Hill as the start of the regular season draws closer.
Brandon Aiyuk
Aiyuk has not played in an NFL game since October 2024, which is when he suffered a torn ACL.
Although he was expected to return at some point in 2025, the San Francisco 49ers placed him on the reserve/left team list after he missed multiple rehab sessions.
Niners general manager John Lynch later made it clear that Aiyuk would not see the field for the 49ers again, telling reporters, "I think it's safe to say that he's played his last snap with the Niners."
Despite that, Aiyuk is still technically a member of the team, as the 49ers have neither traded nor released him.
Dating back to last season, there were rumors and speculation about Aiyuk joining his former college teammate in quarterback Jayden Daniels by making the move to the Washington Commanders, but Washington signed Stefon Diggs earlier this month, which ended that possibility.
At this point, Aiyuk feels more like a reclamation project than a player who a contending team would be able to count upon.
Because of that, a rebuilding team with a suspect wide receiver group such as the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns or Las Vegas Raiders may make the most sense.
None of those teams have high expectations, but if one of them could acquire Aiyuk and get him anywhere close to the player he was in 2023 when he set a career high with 1,342 receiving yards, it could be a huge win for the organization moving forward.
Tyreek Hill
The 32-year-old Hill is a potential future Hall of Famer with eight Pro Bowl nods, five First Team All-Pro selections and a Super Bowl win to his credit, but it is fair to wonder how much he has left in the tank.
Hill battled through a wrist injury that seemingly impacted his play in 2024 with the Miami Dolphins and resulted in him finishing with under 1,000 receiving yards for the first time since 2019, and his 2025 season ended after just four games due to a torn ACL.
The Dolphins released Hill after the 2025 campaign, and after going unsigned in free agency, he provided an injury update in July, saying that he had "no power in my left leg at all."
That called into question the viability of Hill contributing for an NFL team in 2026, but he is still by far the biggest name and most accomplished wideout available in free agency.
Since Hill played his first six seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs, reaching the 1,000-yard receiving mark four times and helping them win a Super Bowl, they stand out as the most obvious choice.
The Chiefs have had question marks throughout their receiving corps ever since they traded Hill to the Dolphins in 2022, and that continues to be the case.
Between Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy and a few others, the Chiefs have some potential at the position, but bringing in someone who quarterback Patrick Mahomes is familiar with could be what is needed to help KC bounce back from missing the playoffs last season.
The Baltimore Ravens are another team to monitor since they have a penchant for signing big-name wide receivers late in their career, and haven't gotten big-time production out of receivers other than Zay Flowers in recent years.
