Myles Garrett Hyped by Rams Teammate After Trade, 'Not All Men Are Created Equal'

Life figures to be easier for Los Angeles Rams defensive end Braden Fiske in 2026 after the team traded for Myles Garrett this offseason, and he had nothing but positive things to say about his new teammate.

"Not all men are created equal, that's for sure," Fiske said Thursday when discussing Garrett, per Zach Edwards of the Rams' official website. "He's a baller, no doubt. He's getting a slide, there's no doubt about that. Trying to work off him or vice versa, communicating. 

"The biggest thing right now is working on our communication of how to rush together, how we're going to attack certain looks. As all four, the certain looks that we're going to get when he's on the field, preparing for that and doing our best to work off each other. It's been good so far though. I think we're making strides."

Given the constant speculation that Aaron Donald may be coming out of retirement as well, Fiske could be the forgotten man along the Rams' defensive front.

And that would lead to plenty of opportunities for the Florida State product.

Even if Donald doesn't play in 2026, opposing offensive lines will look to counter Garrett with double teams and protection slides in his direction. If Fiske is lined up on the other side of the line, that will lead to favorable matchups and holes to exploit.

A career-year could be in store as a result, which would be a welcome development for the 26-year-old after he took something of a step back from his rookie season to his second one from a statistical perspective.

After breaking onto the scene with 44 tackles, 8.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries as a rookie in 2024, Fiske posted 30 tackles, three sacks, one fumble recovery and zero forced fumbles in 2025.

Considering Garrett just set the NFL record with 23 sacks last season as a member of the Cleveland Browns, he will be the focus of opposing offensive lines. That means Fiske could return to or even exceed his rookie production.
