Titans' Peter Skoronski Reportedly Becomes Highest-Paid Guard in NFL History with New Contract

The Tennessee Titans are reportedly making Peter Skoronski the highest-paid guard in NFL history.

The Titans and Skoronski have agreed to terms on a four-year, $100 million extension with $88 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

That marks the highest average annual salary for a guard while setting a positional record for guaranteed money, per Spotrac.

Skoronski was previously signed through 2027 after the Titans opted into the fifth-year club option on his rookie contract, per Spotrac.

The guard was initially selected by the Titans with the No. 11 pick in the 2023 draft. He is now set to be under contract in Tennessee through his age-30 campaign in 2031.

The extension could be seen as a vote of confidence from the Titans that Skoronski's protection can help Cam Ward take a step forward during his second NFL season.

Ward took an NFL-high 55 sacks for a league-worst 410 lost yards during his 2025 rookie campaign.

Skoronski was credited by PFF with allowing just two of those sacks and one hit despite a high pass volume (Ward ranked eighth in the NFL with 540 attempts) and his own high workload (Skoronski was on the field for every Titans offensive snap).

He finished out the campaign graded by PFF with the second-best pass-blocking grade among all NFL guards.

Outside of Skoronski, the Titans have plenty of questions about the makeup of their offensive line to answer while preparing for next Thursday's preseason opener at the San Francisco 49ers.

An ongoing battle for the starting center spot features Austin Schlottmann, Andre James and rookie Pat Coogan vying for the spot.

Cordell Volson is competing with Jackson Slater and rookie Fernando Carmona Jr. to start at right guard.

With Skoronski locked in for the near future, head coach Robert Saleh will be tasked with finding an offensive line combination that can help him cut down on how much contact Ward takes this fall.
