Shedeur Sanders Addresses 'Petty QB Battles' amid Deshaun Watson Competition in New Browns Video

While players are fighting for roster spots, Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders believes everyone is rowing in the same direction.

Browns legend Bernie Kosar asked Sanders a question about leadership, in terms of furthering his own career while helping the team as a whole. The second-year signal-caller said there's a collaborative atmosphere in the quarterback room.

"Everybody's goal is aligned here," Sanders said (3:39 mark). "That's why we don't have the petty quarterback battles internally. That's not up to us. It's up to whoever the coaches think put their best foot forward."

Throughout the offseason, first-year Browns coach Todd Monken has maintained an open mind about the team's quarterback battle. He refrained from making any declarations and said he intended to have a fluid approach toward who's getting how many on-field reps on a given day.

With the calendar turning over to August, Monken provided little indication as to whether Sanders is edging ahead of Deshaun Watson or vice versa.

There's no question that Sanders and Watson each want to be QB1, and the same is true for Dillon Gabriel, who's sitting third in the depth chart. The drama behind the scenes appears to be at a minimum, though.
