Caitlin Clark Wonders If Sophie Cunningham Will Fight in UFC After Serving as Ring Girl in New Video
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark joked that Sophie Cunningham's cameo at UFC 329 might be a preview of things to come.
"It shows people are really paying attention to the WNBA and the players we have and the personalities we have across this league," Clark said of Cunningham working as a ring girl. "It's certainly fun. Maybe we'll see her do more of it. Who knows? Maybe she'll be a UFC fighter at some point. That's up to Sophie."
Cunningham originally planned to watch UFC 329 as a fan before UFC president Dana White quickly accepted her offer to serve as a ring girl.
She signaled the start of the fight for Paddy Pimblett's first-round victory over Benoît Saint Denis and then celebrated with Max Holloway after he beat Conor McGregor in the main event.
This might've been Cunningham's last appearance at a UFC show for the time being. The schedules lined up perfectly this past weekend as she was in town for the Fever's game against the Las Vegas Aces.
Once the WNBA season concludes, perhaps there will be another opportunity for her to get inside the Octagon.
