Sophie Cunningham Reacts to UFC Ring Girl Spot, Drops Meme with Holloway & Greets Dana White at Game
Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham thoroughly enjoyed her brief foray as a UFC ring girl over the weekend.
Echoing the account of UFC president Dana White, Cunningham told reporters Sunday the whole thing came together the night of UFC 329. She joked to White that she could be a ring girl if there was a spot open, and he took her up on the offer.
"It was so much fun. It was a great environment," she said.
Cunningham held up the card to signal the start of the first round for Paddy Pimblett's victory over Benoît Saint Denis, which didn't require a second round. That wasn't the only time she stepped inside the Octagon as she joined Max Holloway during his celebration after beating Conor McGregor in the main event.
Cunningham was in Las Vegas ahead of the Fever's matchup with the Las Vegas Aces. Indiana earned a 109-75 win, and the three-point sharpshooter came off the bench to score 20 points.
White had a front-row seat for the contest:
Unfortunately for Cunningham, she'll probably have to miss UFC's next major show. UFC is slated for Aug. 15 in Philadelphia, which is sandwiched between a Fever home game against the Dallas Wings and a road trip to the Atlanta Dream two nights later.
