Milwaukee Brewers v. St. Louis Cardinals

Jacob Misiorowski Injury Update, MLB All-Star Game Status Ahead of Brewers vs. Pirates

Julia StumbaughJul 11, 2026

Milwaukee Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski will miss both a scheduled matchup with Paul Skenes and the 2026 MLB All-Star game due to what he described as "a little forearm stuff."

Brewers manager Pat Murphy confirmed Saturday that Misiorowski will skip his scheduled Sunday start against Skenes and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Misiorowski will still miss the All-Star Game, which he was already expected to sit out because of the proximity of Sunday's start to the event.

Murphy told reporters the decision to hold Misiorowski out Sunday was because the pitcher "didn't recover well" from his last start, during which he pitched seven innings at the St. Louis Cardinals on July 7, per Fox Sports 920's Hunter Baumgardt.

Sunday would have marked the third time this season Misiorowski started on four days rest, per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

"Just didn't recover well. His arm doesn't feel great. His body doesn't feel great," Murphy said Saturday, per Baumgardt. "There's no imaging or none of that stuff going on, we're just giving him a rest and he needs some time away from throwing."

Misiorowski said he felt fatigue would be "the best word" to describe his status, per Hogg.

"Nothing crazy. Just didn't bounce back. A little quick on the days off between but nothing crazy," Misiorowski said, per Hogg.

Misiorowski added, per MLB.com's John Perrotto: "It [stinks] to miss a start and the All-Star Game, but I know it's the right thing to do in this situation. My arm is a little tired."

The 24-year-old earned his second All-Star nod in as many seasons after leading MLB with a 1.62 ERA and 167 strikeouts through 18 starts and 111 innings pitched.

Misiorowski has achieved those numbers in large thanks part to his historically fast pitch velocity.

He set a single-game record with 47 pitches of 101 miles per hour or faster on June 19, then threw the hardest recorded pitch by a starter with a 105.5 mph fastball on June 26.

Making sure Misiorowski is well-rested heading out of the All-Star break will be key to making sure he can still manage to keep up that velocity down the stretch of his second MLB season.
