An Iginla will be wearing a Calgary Flames sweater again.
The team selected 17-year-old forward Joe Iginla in the third round of the 2026 NHL draft. He's the son of Flames legend Jarome Iginla.
Splitting the 2025-26 season between the Edmonton Oil Kings and Vancouver Giants in the WHL, Joe had 15 goals and 16 assists in 59 appearances. NHL Central Scouting ranked him as the No. 200 skater from North America.
Joe will eventually make his way to the franchise where his dad spent 16 seasons.
Jarome is the Flames' all-time leader in multiple categories including appearances (1,219), goals (525) and points (1,095). His No. 12 sweater hangs in the rafters of Scotiabank Saddledome.
The Hall of Famer serves as a special advisor to Calary general manager Craig Conroy.
