Jared Verse Had Clear Message for Rams Teammates About Seahawks Rivalry After Trade to Browns
After shockingly getting dealt from the Los Angeles Rams to the Cleveland Browns as part of the blockbuster Myles Garrett trade earlier this month, Pro Bowl pass-rusher Jared Verse revealed his parting message to his former Rams teammates.
In an interview with Browns broadcaster Nathan Zegura (h/t Cameron DaSilva of USA Today's RamsWire), Verse noted that he asked and was granted permission by Rams head coach Sean McVay to address the team after learning that he had been traded to Cleveland:
Regarding his final words to the teammates he played alongside over his first two NFL seasons, Verse divulged that he made a simple request, saying, "And I told them the most important thing, 'Make sure'—and I'm not going to cuss—'Make sure you beat the Seahawks. That's all I care about.'"
The Seattle Seahawks are among the Rams' greatest rivals, and they put an end to L.A.'s 2025 season by beating the Rams in the NFC Championship Game en route to winning the Super Bowl.
Acquiring Garrett made the Rams the favorite to win not only the NFC West, but the NFC as a whole and even the Super Bowl, and Verse's comments suggest he will be pulling for his old team to succeed even though he is no longer with them.
