Tiger Proves I Know Nothing- and Tom Brady Is a Lucky Man
First things first. I'm sorry for doubting you Tiger. In my last post, I mentioned that the PGA Championship might be Tiger's undoing. Forgive me, for I have sinned. Never again shall I doubt you, Tiger. Tiger wins by 8 strokes. It's as if he read my blog, or something...
Now to the matter at hand, which is my life: Football.
This weekend, college football saw a boy become a man, another top 5 team wither (hint: I'm a Man!), Michigan upsetting Notre Dame (YES!), and a couple of wild ones in Athens, and Autzen, respectively.
The Minnesota Gophers christened their new stadium with a victory over the always formidable Air Force, 20-13. From what I hear, the new diggs, or as it is being called, The Bank (which I love!), is a premier institution. It has, supposedly, the largest locker room in the country. That bodes well for times, like this weekend, when the Gophers will be on the losing side of things, and the players can hide in a corner, or something like that.
Breaking News!!! Chicago Bears LB Brian Urlacher will miss the season with a bum wrist! After last night's last minute loss to the Packers, that's kinda like a kick-to-the-balls. And remember, People, I did say the Lions would finish ahead of the Bears in the NFC North. It's all coming together...
Which leads me to the NFL!
Like the Bears, the Bungles, er Bengals, lost in the last seconds, on a fluke, as former Michigan CB Leon Hall tipped a Kyle Orton pass that fell into the soft hands of Brandon Stokely, which he then proceeded to run 80-something yards to paydirt. Cincy might just have a worse curse than the Cubs, seriously. At least the Cubs can be endlessly inept and still fill the seats.
Drew Brees threw for 6 TD's in a win over those lowly Lions. Funny, I remember picking Brees 3rd in my fantasy football draft and getting some weird looks... 1-0, Bitches!
San Fran goes into Arizona and beats the Super Bowl Runner-Ups (a.k.a 1st loser)! Always happens, you know- A Super Bowl team from the previous year ends up missing the playoffs. I'm not saying, I'm just saying... You know what I'm saying?
Adrian Peterson, a.k.a. All Day, is the best running back today. Not about to put him up there with Barry Sanders yet, but his speed and power are eerily similar to a certain Hall of Fame RB who played for the Browns and was in attendance yesterday in Cleveland- Jim Brown... Don't believe me, check this out!
B'More won, but their defense was abysmal. The Ravens "D" let up 24 points to the Chiefs!? And that was with Damon Huard replacing Cassell (sprained left knee). Damon Huard put up 24 on the Ravens!! I hear that even with the loss, the Chiefs are throwing a parade this afternoon in KC because of the moral victory of putting 24 up on Ray-Ray and Ed Reed's defense. 24 points? Damon Huard? The sky is now falling.
Which brings me to my Top 5:
1. NE Patriots- I know they haven't played yet! Doesn't matter, they're still #1, and they have Brady, who, BTW, got Gisele prego again. How can they not be #1?
2. Pittsburgh Steelers- They should've never won Thursday night, but they did. And good teams find a way to win- even if their QB bagged one of the ugliest women walking.
3. MN Vikings- They have Adrian Peterson.
4. Philly Eagles- Rolled up 38 on Carolina- @ Carolina! Picked Delhomme 4 times in the process. Ha! Delhomme's on my fantasy team. That 3rd pick of Brees keeps looking better and better.
5. N.O. Saints- I know, the Aint's? Their defense is garbage, but what does it matter when you score 45? Plus, Brees' mom passed on this summer. Always fear the player who has someone to play for. And he's my fantasy QB, Bitches!
Tonight's game between the Patriots and Bills is a perfect example of what happens when you swallow your pride and realize that things are bigger than you. T.O. is on the Bills (serves him right), and he has a VH1 show (lame). Randy Moss is on the Patriots. Moss doesn't have a show, but he has stability in what was once a chaotic mind. Moss' team wins, and he wins the battle of best receiver tonight. Enjoy
Tune in or get tuned out- it's just Komencentz!
