Pete Crow-Armstrong Hits for Cycle, Highlights and Stats for Cubs Star vs. Rockies
Pete Crow-Armstrong hit for the cycle in reverse order Monday.
The Chicago Cubs centerfielder launched a solo home run in the first inning against the Colorado Rockies, flew around the bases for a triple in the third, notched his double in the fifth and then got what figured to be the easy part with a single in the seventh.
In something of an amusing development, though, he was picked off from first base shortly after he acknowledged the Wrigley Field crowd's standing ovation.
Crow-Armstrong went 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI through his first four at-bats, which was good enough to reach the cycle.
In the process, he posted the 13th cycle in franchise history. It wasn't that long since the last one, as catcher Carson Kelly hit for the cycle in March 2025. However, the last Cubs player to accomplish the feat before Kelly came all the way back in 1993 when Mark Grace did so against the San Diego Padres.
It was more of the same for Crow-Armstrong, who has been a bright spot for a Cubs team that has been struggling of late.
He entered Monday's game third in all of Major League Baseball in wins above replacement (4.0), per Baseball Reference, behind only Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani and Philadelphia Phillies ace Cristopher Sánchez.
Crow-Armstrong is probably best known for his fielding, which helps him impress in stats such as WAR, but he entered Monday's game slashing .392/.426/.784 in June.
Those numbers are only going to improve after he hit for the cycle.
