The Hurricanes were completely dominant during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, going 16-3 with just one loss during the first three rounds against the Ottawa Senators, Philadelphia Flyers and Montreal Canadiens. They didn't lose a game until the first game of the Eastern Conference Finals, and promptly rattled off the gentleman's sweep against Montreal.
The Vegas Golden Knights provided a greater challenge in the Stanley Cup Finals, winning two of the first three games. It was a fantastic matchup, with Games 2-3 each going to overtime.
But the Hurricanes seized control from there, winning three straight games to clinch the title, the organization's second title in its history. Jordan Staal was named the Conn Smythe winner after scoring six goals and an assist during the Stanley Cup Finals.
And now for Staal, his teammates and Hurricanes' fans, it's time to party.
