Watch Lewis Hamilton Win 1st F1 Race with Ferrari 1 Week After Kim Kardashian Attended Podium Finish

For the first time since July 2024, Lewis Hamilton stood atop a Formula 1 podium Sunday.

The seven-time series champion beat out compatriots George Russell and Lando Norris to win the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.

This is Hamilton's first victory with the Ferrari team and the 106th of his career, extending his record over Michael Schumacher. Signifying the enormity of the moment, some of his fellow drivers congratulated him in pit lane:

"I have to start by thanking everyone at Ferrari," Hamilton said, per ESPN.com. "It was a dream last year which seemed impossible but we never gave up hope. I have the greatest fanbase. All wins are special but this is something else. I've always wondered what it would be like to win in this car. This is the first I hope of many."

Drivers are like any other athlete in that they succumb to the effects of Father Time sooner or later. A lot of fans will have dismissed the idea the 41-year-old Hamilton can compete for an eighth championship, which would move him ahead of Schumacher.

But Sunday's triumph followed back-to-back runner-up finishes, the second of which came with girlfriend Kim Kardashian in attendance in Monaco.

Hamilton's debut season with Ferrari was mostly unspectacular. He didn't get onto the podium once and was sixth in the overall standings.

Team principal Fred Vasseur may have discovered the secret to get the legend back to his best, and perhaps a title challenge isn't out of the question. Hamilton has a lot of ground to make up on Kimi Antonelli, though.

If nothing else, the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix delivered another memorable moment in an incredible career.
