Angel Reese Reflects on Sky Tenure in Video Ahead of Chicago Return After Dream Trade
Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese discussed her time as a member of the Chicago Sky ahead of a matchup with her former team on Tuesday night.
"I'm excited to be back," Reese said during an appearance on WNBA Countdown (0:30 mark). "A lot of great things did happen here. I got drafted here and I have a lot of great memories here so it's always good to see familiar faces, but I'm here with the Dream this time and I'm excited to be with them."
Chicago traded Reese to Atlanta in exchange for a 2027 first-round pick and a 2028 first-round selection on April 6. The Dream also received the right to swap 2028 second-round picks with the Sky in the deal.
Reese was initially acquired by Chicago in 2024, as the team used the No. 7 overall pick in the WNBA draft to add her.
While she earned two All-Star nods and established herself as one of the league's top rebounders, she didn't seem to end her final season with the Sky on a high note.
As Chicago finished with a 10-34 record in 2025, Reese said that she wasn't "settling for the same s--t we did this year" and wanted the front office to "get good players" in a Sept. 2025 interview with the Chicago Tribune's Julia Poe.
Her Sky teammates reportedly weren't pleased with her comments at the time.
Now, Reese has helped the Dream own the best record in the Eastern Conference at 7-3 heading into Tuesday's action.
She averaged 13.3 points, 11.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting 41.7 percent from the field in her first 10 appearances with Atlanta this season.
