Brandon Aiyuk Posts New IG Video amid 49ers Rumors, 'They Mad Because They Stupid'
Brandon Aiyuk appeared to take a shot at the San Francisco 49ers in a new video he posted on Instagram on Tuesday.
The wide receiver said the Niners are mad at themselves rather than him because of the way they went about the past year.
"You wanna know why they really mad tho? They mad because they stupid," he said. "They mad because they paid me $50 million in 8 months. And then voided my guarantees for 2027. And I'm about to be on a new team in 2026. They mad at themselves."

Earlier this week, Aiyuk posted another cryptic video on his Instagram, using a handful of analogies to describe his situation. He seemed to suggest that the 49ers were afraid to release him because they would regret letting him walk, though he didn't specifically mention the Niners.
"This kid, he got this one toy, but he don't really know how to use it correctly," he said. "So somebody else about to pick it up and play with it and they're like 'Oh yeah, this s--t litty.' And they're like 'Wait, wait, wait, hold on, that's my toy.'"
Aiyuk and the 49ers have been at odds for the past year or so, but his Instagram videos are the first time he's voiced his thoughts publicly.
Aiyuk, who signed a four-year, $120 million contract with the 49ers after the 2023 season, suffered a torn ACL and MCL during the 2024 campaign and hasn't played since.
Last July, San Francisco voided the remaining guaranteed money in his contract after Aiyuk did not participate in rehab sessions for his injuries. He stopped reporting to team facilities entirely in December, which led to the Niners placing him on the reserve/left team list.
General manager John Lynch told reporters in January that the receiver had "played his last snap with the Niners."
The 49ers have yet to release Aiyuk, but the Washington Commanders are widely viewed as his preferred landing spot. ESPN's Nick Wagoner reported Tuesday that the team has no "hard deadline" to release Aiyuk, so it could be a while before he hits free agency.
