Travis Hunter Has Added Muscle and Looks 'Damn Good' in Injury Rehab, Jags HC Says
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen is "extremely pleased" with wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter's progress after he suffered a season-ending torn LCL in his right knee during an October practice during his rookie season last year.
Coen, who also added that Hunter has added muscle as well, provided that insight to Jaguars play-by-play announcer Frank Frangie of 1010XL / 92.5 FM (h/t Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk).

Report: A.J.'s 'Best to Ever Play Here' Message
"I'm extremely pleased with where Travis is at mentally and physically," Coen said. "I'm not a doctor, I don't know when he is going to be full go but I do know that he runs on this field every morning with the guys and he's looking damn good. He's added so much mass on his upper half, he worked so hard in the weight room through the winter and this offseason. There is no question he's gotten stronger, specifically in the upper half."
The Jags traded up from No. 5 to No. 2 with the Cleveland Browns in the 2025 NFL draft to select Hunter, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, out of Colorado.
Hunter was excellent on both ends in college. In 2024, he caught 96 passes for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns (in addition to a rushing TD). On defense, he made 36 tackles, broke up 11 passes and grabbed four interceptions.
With the Jags, Hunter saw action on both sides of the ball. Over seven games, Hunter made 15 tackles and three pass breakups. He also caught 28 passes for 298 yards and one touchdown.
Hunter enjoyed a breakout game in his last 2025 contest, catching eight passes for 101 yards and a score vs. the Los Angeles Rams on 14 targets.
Obviously, the potential is there for Hunter to have a special NFL career. Thankfully, he's on the right track in rehab as he gets ready for his second season.
