Group A teams will be stationed in Mannheim, with Group B competing in Düsseldorf. The latter will be the staging ground for the semifinals and beyond.
Finland outlasted Switzerland in overtime in the 2026 final. Konsta Helenius scored the winner at the 70:42 mark of the contest. It was the Finns' fifth world title and first since 2022.
The United States had a tournament to forget. Months after reigning supreme at the Winter Olympics, the U.S. was hammered 4-0 by Canada in the quarterfinals.
While it wasn't the strongest possible roster for Team USA, eighth place was its worst showing since 2011. Whoever is on the squad next winter will want to atone for that disappointment.
