NHL Combine 2026 Results, Measurements, Highlights and Top Prospects
Scouts got a closer look at some of the top prospects in the 2026 NHL Draft when the scouting combine continued Saturday in Buffalo.
Penn State forward and prospective top pick Gavin McKenna measured in at 5' 11.25" and 170 pounds before recording some of the best athletic test performances of the day.
McKenna was asked after testing what it would mean if the Toronto Maple Leafs decided to draft him with the No. 1 pick.
"It obviously would mean the world," McKenna answered. "It would be a dream come true... it's a pretty unique situation where they're a team who's pushing for the playoffs next year who got the first overall pick."
OHL defenseman Chase Reid measured in at 6'2.5" and 190 pounds ahead of athletic testing Saturday.
Reid also said he had been taken out to dinner by the Chicago Blackhawks, who hold the No. 4 pick in the upcoming draft.
OHL center Caleb Malhotra said it would be "pretty special" if he were to be drafted at No. 3 by the Vancouver Canucks, which just hired his father Manny Malhotra as head coach.
SHL winger Ivar Stenberg did not complete athletic testing because he got sick after representing Sweden in the 2026 IIHF World Championships, per NBC Sports' Sheng Peng.
Stenberg said Saturday his goal is to make the jump from the SHL from the NHL next season.
Bleacher Report's Hannah Stuart projected in her latest 2026 NHL mock draft that McKenna will go to the Leafs at No. 1, followed by Reid to the San Jose Sharks at No. 2, Malhotra to the Canucks at No. 3 and Stenberg to the Blackhawks at No. 4.
What the official numbers look like when scouting combine testing is completed this weekend could impact how that order turns out when the 2026 NHL draft starts June 26 in Buffalo.
