CANES STEAL GAME 2 VS. VGK 😱

NHL Playoffs 2026 Betting Odds and Box Score Advice for Stanley Cup Bracket Final

Joe TanseyJun 5, 2026

The Carolina Hurricanes' late-game surge in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final changed the dynamic of the series with the Vegas Golden Knights.

Carolina went from facing a 2-0 deficit to being level with Vegas as the series shifts to the home of the Western Conference champion.

Even though Vegas captured Game 1 on the road, Carolina is still the slight favorite to hoist the Stanley Cup at FanDuel Sportsbook. The Hurricanes are -142 (bet $142 to win $100), while Vegas sits at +118 (bet $100 to win $118).

Game 3 Odds

Money Line: Carolina (-110); Vegas (-110)

Over/Under: 5.5

Puck Line: Vegas (-1.5, +205)

Vegas' six-game winning streak was ended by Carolina's Game 2 comeback.

The Hurricanes snatched all the momentum in the series with a trio of third-period goals, one of which was aided by a failed challenge from Golden Knights head coach John Tortorella.

Vegas rebounded and forced overtime with a late power-play goal, but before the man advantage, it felt like the Golden Knights had an impossible task ahead of them.

The Golden Knights have to be on the front foot more on home ice in Game 3. They took a more defensive approach to Game 2 and suppressed the amount of shots that reached Carter Hart.

Vegas blocked 25 shots compared to Carolina's 11 blocks. The two teams both put 26 shots on goal, but Carolina was ahead in that category for most of Game 2.

We should expect to see Jack Eichel, Pavel Dorofeyev and Vegas' top attackers be more active in front of Frederik Andersen's net in Game 3.

Eichel and Dorofeyev each had three shots on goal in Game 1. They are the two Vegas players to target for Game 3 player props. Eichel is -128 to have over 2.5 shots on goal, while Dorofeyev sits at -108 for the same prop.

Brett Howden at +114 to record a point is worth a look from the Vegas side as well. Howden scored twice in Game 2 and had a goal and an assist in Game 1.

Carolina's Logan Stankoven-Taylor Hall-Jackson Blake line is still its best unit. They are all between -110 and -120 to record a Game 3 point.

Rod Brind'Amour swapped Jordan Martinook for Seth Jarvis on his first and third lines in Game 2. That's a move to keep an eye on as the preparations for Game 3 ramp up.

Nikolaj Ehlers is the other Carolina player to look at for props. Ehlers had two goals and six shots on net in Games 1 and 2. Ehlers is +120 to have over 2.5 shots on goal in Game 3.

Both games have gone over the total of 5.5 goals. That's once again worth the look. It might be the more reliable bet to take instead of the money or puck line because the matchup is so tight.
