A.J. Brown's 'Degenerative' Knee Issue Discussed by Patriots' Wolf After Trade From Eagles
New England Patriots executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf explained how star wide receiver A.J. Brown's knee issues factored into the team's decision to acquire him in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Wolf told Yahoo Sports' Jori Epstein that Brown has a "degenerative knee condition," but noted that the wideout only missed one regular-season game due to a knee injury designation during his tenure with the Eagles.
"It's a factor, but we examined him," Wolf told Epstein. "He's got a knee that has some wear and tear that we were aware of. Our training staff and medical staff signed off on it."

Brown downplayed his right knee issue when speaking to reporters on Tuesday.
"No injury. There's nothing to worry about," Brown said, via Karen Guregian of MassLive. "I think this whole little ... you gotta understand where I came from, so any conversation about anything is going to come up."
On Monday, the Eagles traded the three-time Pro Bowler to the Patriots in exchange for a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick.
The Los Angeles Rams were among the teams rumored to have interest in Brown prior to the swap, although his knee injury reportedly caused the team to have concerns about acquiring him.
The 28-year-old spent the past four seasons in Philadelphia after opening his career on the Tennessee Titans from 2019-21.
Last year, Brown reeled in 78 catches for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 appearances.
